Quick Talk Answers 1. What's your favorite convenience store? I don't really have a favorite. They're all really good. I guess my favorite one is my local one because it's so near my house. The staff in that store also have the best uniform. The workers there look really smart. I also like that store because I can pay my electricity bill there. 2. Which is more important - food shopping or shopping for clothes? This might sound weird, but I much prefer shopping for food. I love the cooked food section in my supermarket. I go there in the evening when there is a discount of up to 20 per cent on a lot of the food, especially things with fried meat. I couldn't survive without the discounts. I also like the food samples from that store. 3. Which is better - Daiso or Don Quijote? I like them both. They are both among my favorite stores in Japan. We can buy all kinds of stuff from them. We can even get the latest electronics in Don Quijote. I usually go to Daiso for stuff I need for school. I bought an eraser there yesterday. I think Daiso is the best place for things like notebooks. 4. Who likes shopping more - men or women? I think it depends. I have male friends who go shopping every weekend and buy loads of clothes. I also have female friends who do the same. If you look at the shoppers in a store at the weekend, I don't think there are more men than women or women than men. 5. What do you think of 100-yen shops? I think 100-yen shops are great. I couldn't survive without them. They have so much cheap stuff. I can't believe how they keep their prices so low. But… in recent years, I have seen many products for 300 yen or 500 yen. Maybe in the future, 100-yen shops will become 500-yen shops. 6. Do you like wandering around souvenir shops? I love wandering around souvenir shops in Kyoto. They are so colorful. I always visit shops that sell folding fans, umbrellas or incense. The food in Kyoto's souvenir shops is also great. I buy my friends delicious Kyoto sweets and snacks. I usually buy matcha flavored warabi mochi.
